Selfies and locations delete themselves.
Retention is not a policy page — it is enforced in the database. Every selfie and GPS point is permanently deleted after 7 days on Free and 30 days on Pro. You cannot accumulate a face-and-location archive of your staff even if you wanted to, and that is exactly what makes people willing to use it.

Can employees fake their GPS location for attendance?
Location alone is spoofable, which is why Proterate Team pairs every check-in with a live selfie, a timestamp, and the exact distance from the worksite. Anything outside the geofence is flagged as pending and reviewed by a manager, so unusual check-ins surface instead of passing silently.
What happens if an employee is outside the office geofence?
They are not blocked. The check-in is recorded as pending with their selfie, the exact distance in metres, and a reason they type in. Their manager approves or rejects it from the admin console. Legitimate field work gets recorded; genuine outliers get caught.
Is a GPS attendance app legal in Thailand? Do I need employee consent?
Selfies and location are personal data under Thailand’s PDPA, so you should inform staff, collect consent, and only keep the data as long as you need it. Proterate Team is built around that last part: selfies and locations are automatically deleted after 7 or 30 days, and location is captured only at check-in, never in between. This is not legal advice — check your own obligations.
Do employees need to install an app?
No. The employee time clock is a mobile web app — staff open a link in their phone browser and clock in. There is nothing to download from the App Store or Play Store, nothing to update, and it works on personal Android and iPhone devices.
Is this better than a fingerprint scanner?
A fingerprint scanner only works at the one place it is installed, needs hardware and maintenance, and means a shared sensor. Proterate Team works at every worksite from the employee’s own phone, requires no hardware, and records who checked in with a photo and a location instead of a shared reader.
What if someone forgets to clock out?
They submit a time-correction request with the corrected time from their own history screen. It goes to their manager on a separate approval track from geofence exceptions, so a simple forgotten punch never gets mixed up with an out-of-zone check-in.
